Rhinoplasty
The actual operation is usually performed under general anaesthesia. If only minor corrections of the soft part of the nose are done, only local anaesthesia may suffice.
The operation is performed by access from the nostrils, so no external scars are left. For this reason, it is a very complex and demanding surgery.
A good result of the surgery depends, among other things, on the elasticity and type of skin of the nose. The skin has sufficient elasticity until about 40 years of age, but it is very individual and does not mean that the nose cannot be operated on later.
The operation usually takes 1 to 2 hours.
Nasal correction is completed by fixing the nose with a plaster plate and tamponade of the nostrils.
After the operation, the client is hospitalized at the clinic for one or two days, depending on the extent of the operation. The nasal tamponade is removed 2 or 3 days later. During these days the patient must breathe only through the mouth.
