This method has been used for more than 25 years and is based on the insertion of a cannula (a tube with a special tip) into the subcutaneous tissue from a short skin incision up to 1 cm in length.

By manipulating the cannula, the adipose tissue is broken and crushed and aspirated by means of a powerful vacuum pump with the possibility of regulating the suction.

This method is still used by many surgical facilities.

In this case, the subcutaneous fat is destroyed by a high-energy ultrasonic wave. The fat is “melted” and sucked off as a semi-liquid mass.

Ultrasonic liposuction has been performed abroad for about 10 years; in the Czech Republic, ultrasonic liposuction has been used in some workplaces since 1998.

This method is also known as micro-vibration-assisted liposuction and it is currently considered to be the most modern and extremely safe technique for aspirating the subcutaneous fat pad.

Since 1999, we have performed more than 3,000 operations of this type in various anatomical areas, in most patients under the general anaesthesia and in some cases even under the local anaesthesia.

Vibration liposuction is also used as a supplement to some other basic surgeries.

The given area must first be filled with a large volume of a special solution which facilitates the actual liposuction procedure.

The carrier medium is saline, to which bicarbonate, adrenaline and local anaesthetic are added in appropriate proportions.

The subcutaneous fat cells are very gently dissolved by micro-vibrations of the cannula and then aspirated.

The advantages of this method:

• the resulting wounds do not exceed 5 mm
• the surgery time is reduced by more than 1/3
• less swelling and less haemorrhage occurs
• reduction in unpleasant postoperative pain
• faster healing
• the risk of postoperative complications is significantly reduced
