Immediately after the surgery, the patient’s head is bandaged with an elastic bandage with cotton wool.
The ears can hurt significantly during the first days after surgery, which can be relieved by painkillers.
For the first days after the surgery, the patient should sleep on his back, thus avoiding severe side swellings and associated pain. Exercise is not recommended.
The first dressing is usually performed on the 2nd day after the surgery, the next one about a week later. Around 12 days after the ears plastic surgery, the overall head bandage is removed and the sutures behind the auricle are removed.
After removing the bandage, it is necessary to wash the hair daily for several days, preferably with a baby shampoo.
For the next 2-3 weeks, the patient should be careful and we recommend fixing the auricles at night with a scarf, bandage or headband. For 1 month, it is necessary to protect the auricle from injury and not to participate in team sports.
In the winter months, it is necessary to avoid cold.
In the summer months, we do not recommend swimming in public pools or ponds.
Full physical and sports activities are not recommended sooner than 2 months after surgery, once the wound has already sufficiently grown together. We do not recommend sun tanning the face and auricles for 3 months after surgery.
